Hi you! I’m Yifei (e-fay)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my work!

Here are a few fun facts before you go:

👾 I once worked as a game master in an escape room — and I still can’t resist solving them for fun.

🧩 I have a Lego collection that might be getting out of hand.

👓 My eyes aren’t pixel-perfect, but Auto-layout has saved me more times than I can count.

Curious about my approach to design? Keep reading to find out more.

Communicate, then communicate again.

Alignment decays the moment a meeting ends. I believe in over-communication — whether that’s a quick Slack ping, a screen recording, or a Figma comment — to keep momentum flowing and unblock problems fast.

Solve problems, not just polish pixels.

Great design isn’t about reinventing the wheel; it’s about narrowing toward the best solution within real-world constraints — timelines, user needs, tech feasibility, and company goals. I listen, analyze, and collaborate to find practical solutions that work.

Own the work, leave out the ego.

I take responsibility from project kickoff through QA, but I also welcome feedback. Different perspectives strengthen the final product, and I’m here to co-create, not defend.

Collaboration sparks better ideas.

A quick 15-minute jam with a PM, tech lead, User success agent, PMM, our end user or fellow designer almost always unlocks a better outcome. Design thrives when it’s shared.

Creative and systems-fluent, not trend-driven.

Trends come and go, yet core solutions stay as the key architecture of a product. I always trust in solution first, UI can be polished later approach when it comes a problem.

Always learning, always curious.

Design is constantly evolving — tools, research, users. I keep a growth mindset, treating every launch as another opportunity to learn and refine.
